Good Luck Cards

It's that time of year again!! EXAMS .....yuk. Anyway Nick (NO.1 son) and a few of his friends have their GCSE's this summer and having got through the mocks it's now time to knuckle down and do some revision for the Summer!!! The tri-fold card is for Nick. I will post it off to him in the next couple of weeks. The stars are cut with a punch and the ribbon is stash. The clover leaf card is for a family friends daughter. I created the clover leaf from 3 hearts cut on the cricut. I coloured the grunge board swirl with a PM and covered it in Glamour Dust.

The Sugar Bowl challenge 29

I really enjoyed creating this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge this week. I used pale pink base card layered with pink whitewash card embossed with the Victoria cuttlebug cartridge. I sanded this with some sandpaper to show the embossing more clearly. The pink satin looking paper and the Italian handmade paper are from my stash. The Italian paper was a present from the in-laws when they visited Italy. Pink sparkly card for image base is also from stash. Flower Girl Gorjuss Girl image stamped with Stazon black and coloured with PM's. Flowers (3) cut with a more pointed flower punch and tips rounded with a corner punch. Edges of flowers highlighted with white gel pen. Brads (2), Vintage Button (1), ribbon (I used ribbon instead of one of the paper pieces) and thread from stash. Crown from Maya Road, coloured with PM and covered in Glamour Dust (I'm covered as well!!)

Birthday cards - yummy

Still doing some cards for a friend..........as I am moving to the USA she wanted a bunch of cards to keep her going until I could start sending them again.

Here are some yummy cards using cuttlebug embossing and layering techniques.

Kraft cards

I made these cards using Kraft card as the base and added embellies to create a natural look. The lined circles are white paper scrunched up and stamped with a new stamp in black. The paper has been printed with Distressed Ink Linen using a brayer first. The top card has been stamped with lines and a star punch used on the circle to make a star shaped hole. The star has been placed on the card also. (waste nothin!!) Ribbon, buttons and cotton from stash. The rub -ons are from Maya Road. Card two has been stamped with SU! stamp En Francais in black and the same circle embellishment added without the cut out! Twine, card strip, ribbon and button and chipboard from stash. Chipboard stamped with basic grey swirl stamp in Stazon black ink. Maya Road rub on and Papermania sentiment.

Second Cushion!!

I've made a second cushion .........what do you think? I quite like the alternate colours!!! I think two is enough. On to a different project now!

PTI Palette Challenge

This is the palette I used for my card. Now, one thing, I haven't used Papertrey stuff before and so I have tried to match the colours with stash I already have. My Ocean Tides match wasn't as good as I had hoped :(

I'm moving to the States from the UK in June so hopefully will be able to easily get hold of your lovely stash. Anyway here's my card.............

SU! card with My Minds Eye Papers. Kraft paper embossed with Cuttlebug. Ribbon from stash. Flower cut with Home Accent cartridge on cricut machine. Buttons from stash.

Birthday Card

I love this idea - I have used it before for some Valentine cards and attached hearts to the ribbons. Kraft paper embossed with bark effect folder. Ribbon wrapped around card and then tags attached with glue dots and cotton. Buttons added for detail. Sentiment stamped in SU! ink from Clare Curd at Papermania.

Mojo Monday Birthday card

SU! papers and card with ribbons from stash. Card is embossed using two different embossing folders with the edges inked in white and blue. Scalloped circle in green, circles in blue and cream. Sentiment from Clare Curd at Papermania. Simple and Stylish!

Selection of b'day cards

This card uses My Minds Eye papers - double sided but I can't remember which set. I have used one of my favourite sentiments - it just says what it means in a nice simple way.

This card uses a great digi image. I just love the look on the owl's face! Great sentiment too. Image is coloured with PMs and I have used My Minds Eye double sided papers (can't remember which ones - sorry!!) The butterfly punch is one of my faves.

I enjoyed doing the cherry blossom and I think it looks quite effective. The Kraft paper has been embossed using my 'Christmas' cuttlebug with the leafy branch folder. I then cut loads (and i mean loads!) of flowers with small flower punches and stuck them on it twos all over the branches. I finished the flowers off with tiny crystals in each one. I used a white gel pen to accentuate the leaves in the embossing. A two tone ribbon finishes the card off completely.

Union Jacks

I have really got in to these at the mo. I found a great little bag in Past Times which I shall post a photo of later. This was really easy to make. It's a fleece blanket from ASDA made in to an envelope cushion cover with wadding as the white lines and gingham ribbon as the red lines and a felt star stuck in the middle all sewn on with blanket stitch in different coloured embroidery silk. This has a bit of meaning for me as we move to Washington DC (!) in June so I will be taking it with me........

Muted colours

Been playing with some SU! papers that I hadn't managed to open before Christmas...aren't they gorgeous?? I have used My Minds Eye papers for the sparkly flower bits just to add a twinkle. All other bits from stash. I love the colours used here.

En Francais shabby

A few more silhouettes cut on the Home Accents Cartridge by cricut. The En Francais background stamp (SU!) in Nearly Navy (SU!) has not quite printed all over the card and I really like the shabby chic feeling it gives to the finished piece. Sentiment is from the Time stamp set from SU! Ribbon, button and cord from stash. Main bird image finished with glamour dust.

Summer

Really love the colours of this card....reminds me of the summer ..................lovely and warm. Much better than all this snow and stuff that we have at the moment. My Minds Eye papers, button, ribbon, tag and cotton from stash and sentiment cut on Cricut Home Accents cartridge.

Butterflies

I have been playing with this punch for a while and not managed to get anything I really like...until now. The Grungeboard is out again, this time its coloured with a PM and then red jewels adhered on to the curls. The Dream sentiment is cut using my Home Accents cartridge on the Cricut. Finished with a lovely cotton ribbon.

Guess who got a Cuttlebug for her birthday !!!!!

Who said I was a photographer ...................this is diabolical!!!! Anyway you get the gist...the bottom ink panel is embossed using my new Cuttlebug!!! The swirl is cut using my Cricut and a new cartridge - Home Accents - which is great, full of fantastic embellishments for any cardmaker. The door hinge is Grungeboard painted in white acrylic and glamour dust. I have another card in blue...however I have sealed the card in an envelope and am waiting for the recipient to open it then I will take a photo and update you all!!! Watch this space!!

New Year!

Well ....................having not done anything since November I feel I have abandoned my blog a little bit!!! Any way I had plenty of crafting goodies over Christmas so I have been playing with them and have some posts coming very soon (Just need to take a few photos!)

2010 is going to be a very interesting year for us as a family...... both children have important exams later in the year, both children have big birthdays (16 & 18!!!) and some further exciting news which I can't tell you about just yet!! (You'll have to wait until the end of January for it!!)

I have been off work today as school was closed due to the snow (photos to follow).....it may be closed tomorrow aswell (trying not to keep my fingers crossed!!!?) So I have had a bit of time to do some crafting.
