365 Cards - Watermelon (or colours!)

I didn't have the download so went for the colours instead! I think the glasses must be full of a watermelon cocktail!! I love this lime green and pink combo. xoxox

15th Birthday card for a lad

I had a bit of fun with the shading using my PM's for this one - I tried to make it look like jeans...think I tried too hard!! It's not bad but not good either! Anyway my son thought it was OK and has just taken it to give to a friend.

Waterfall Card

My first attempt at a waterfall card - it works OK! Was just a trial.

Raspberry Ribbons sketch

This is an A5 card as I got so carried away doing the three panels I didn't think about the final size of the card!! Have used SU! stamps, ink and card. Ribbon is all from stash. Really like this colour scheme ........very restful.

Promarker Challenge!!

Well here it is! I've been practicing my shading and hopefully it's getting better. Colours used are:- Dress and tights - Cool Grey 1, 2 and 3.
Tights and Hearts - Poppy.
Shoes - Shale
Hair - Cocoa, Shale
Skin - Vanilla and Blossom
I've only had my Promarkers since last Tuesday. Here's hoping!

Friday Sketchers Sketch

I really enjoyed completing this sketch and using all my new SU! stash (kindly delivered on Tuesday by my friend Sam)It's nice to have real quality materials to create a great card. Papers are from the Sweet Always set. Sentiment from Circle of Friendship set stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink. Image edge sponged in Pumpkin Pie Ink. Image from Gorjuss Girls set 1 coloured with PM's and Marvy's. Base card, white card, pink card, brown paper and brown dots from stash. I am finally getting the hang of the PM shading (pleased with this ones hair!!)- got some great help from another blogist (Wiccababe)!

Papertake Weekly - Scrap this!

I stuck loads of scraps to another piece of paper and cut out the flower shape with my Cricut machine. I cut a further flower from the dark pink paper and mounted it all on pink foam using a brad. There is also a layer of acetate between the pink flower and the large flower. Highlighted with a white gel pen. Definitely using my scraps up!!!

365 Cards - Anniversary

I've used my new SU! papers from the Tea and Crumpets set. Managed to get in on the deal for May and buy four packs for the price of three! Card is also SU! Sentiment is by Clare Curd at Papermania stamped in Chocolate Chip ink from SU! The champagne bucket is a Magnolia stamp coloured with PM's (I'm getting better at shading!) Ribbon and sequins from stash and I have added Glamour Dust to the bottles and bucket. Hope you like!

Saturday Challenge - New Beginnings

I love doing these straight forward cards! The simple lines and tones of one colour look really sophisticated. New papers are from My Minds Eye Laundry Line Glitter Pack (a new purchase - don't tell hubby!) I've chopped the right hand edge of the card off in this photo - will try to retake later! So much for being a photographer as well!

Mojo Monday 88 & 365 Cards purple circles

This card is entered for 2 challenges. I think I'm getting better at the shading and colouring using my PM's - let me know? Mojo Monday 88 is a great sketch and I have combined it with the 365 cards challenge of purple and at least 5 circles!

365 Cards - Matching card and envelope

I don't think this is a bad attempt! I'm still getting used to my Promarkers - The Gorjuss Girls face on the card is not brilliant! Never mind - I'll just keep practicing! Good job hubby is away at the moment although kids now home from school and complaining that the kitchen table is out of use (well I've got to do this somewhere!!)
Just had a look at the close up photo - YUK!!

Promarkers rule!!!

Yum Yum Yum - look at these!!! A new purchase..............lets have a go!!!!

Here it is - my first attempt at using Promarkers. You had better all let me know what you think? I'm quite pleased myself. The blending is quite easy once you have played around for a while. I still need to practice- but I don't think it's a bad first go! Sorry about my finger! (The sentiment is behind the flap and I had to hold it shut so you could see!)

5 squares - 365 cards

This is my card for the 5 squares challenge over at 365 cards. I played around with the layout for a while! Hope you like it!

Papertake Weekly - Dawny's sketch

I've just received my Gorjuss Girls and this is my first use! I coloured the image with watercolours as I wanted some stronger colours. (I only have pastel Marvy's at the mo - some Promarkers on order!!) I also wanted to tone in with the stronger coloured papers.

Finished cotton bag!

I've finally finished my cotton bag. The pictures are the wrong way round. The bottom one is the front! I used a layer of wadding to thicken out the bag a bit and some webbing for the handles. I hadn't done applique before and I am really pleased with the result. I was going to put a button and loop on but forgot to sew in the loop - ce la vie! It looks good as it is!

Birthday cracker and confetti case

I really enjoyed experimenting with card for this cracker shaped box which holds a bottle of perfume. The present is for a friends daughter and when I got it home I thought I'm going to try something different! I measured around the box, the length and then planned it on a sheet of A4 card. The ends are just curves twisted together to seal the box. I know you can't really see from the picture but you can see it looks good! Decorated with Docraft papers , ribbon and fabric flower (free with a mag!) Hope you like it? I also did a confetti case except it has a badge in it!!!! (well you have to have a badge when you are 15!)

Happy Birthday - (using the leftovers!!)

I say leftovers but actually it's only the salmon card and the pale blue mulberry paper that I have finished off!! It's come out quite well - very summery!!

Commission painting

I did this painting as a commission for a friend (the colours go with her lounge!!!) I applied gold leaf squares and added glass beads and sand to some of the paint. Great effects and profitable commission!!

Paintings

These are a couple of bits of art I have done for my bedroom at home. The bottom one is above our bed and is about 2 feet x 1.5 ft and the Pieris is about a foot square (you can see by the date that it was done a couple of years ago - just never had anywhere to show it off until the blog!). They are both painted in acrylic on canvas box frames. Let me know what you think?

Congrats card for a friends promotion

A friend of ours has recently been promoted so I made him a card. Good news in these horrible times! Hope he likes it!!

365 Cards - Embellishments in the corners!

I used two Papermania stamps, one of which I cut into quarters diagonally. Coloured with Marvy's. The corner pieces have been covered with Glamour Dust and stuck on using foam pads to create dimensions.

Stamp Something - Clean/Clear Thankyou

Nice and simple. SU! stamps in Certainly Celery and Creamy Caramel. Sentiment from the SU! Simply Said stamps.

Cute Card Thursday - letters and numbers

A birthday card using cut out letters. The image is a Papermania stamp coloured with Marvy's. Letters cut on Cricut using Don Juan cartridge. Paper is from Papermania. Sentiment is from Papermania by Clare Curd. Buttons and cut outs from stash.

Thank you - spring card

This is my first attempt at a spring card and I think it has worked well. A friend of mine has been making a few of these recently and having seen hers I though I would have a go. I really enjoyed the construction side of the project and using my Cricut for the sentiment and swirl.

365 Cards - Coffee

This is my entry for the 365 Card challenge - Coffee! I think it's OK but not my best.

Tuesday 12 May 2009

365 Challenge - Scallops. circles and bling!

365 Cards - Music sheet challenge

I had some music that was very very old so have put it to good use on this challenge card. It's ok but a bit festive?!

Cotton Bag

I know - it's not finished yet but I'm working on it!!! I've done a bit of applique on the front and back of this shopping bag. The lining is floral, similar to Cath Kidston but not!!!! It will have handles and possibly a button closure. I will publish again when it's finished.
We had a craft afternoon where I work and this is what I came up with. Let me know what you think??
PS it needs a good press!

Needlework sampler

I did this a while ago but thought I would show you some of my needlework. It's created using layers of fabric underneath layers of voile in a patch work fashion. Once pinned together you pick out patterns and highlight it with embroidery silks and beads to create a picture/pattern. This one is about a foot square and I have framed it in a box frame. It looks great in my dining room.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - B&W + 1

I just lurvve Hedghogs - so this stamp was my immediate thought for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I had used the colours before and knew they worked - it was just getting the daisies (!) right. I used my Cricut for the sentiment ( new toy!) and covered it with glamour dust. The daisies I highlighted with stickles. Hope you like it?

Papertake weekly challenge - sketch

I enjoyed doing this challenge - I think it's the first time I've used such strong colours and I have some SU! ink that nearly matches the papers I have used!!!

50th Birthday card - Saturday challenge

Stamp Something - Pink

Here it is! Pink card from SU! Gingham paper from a mag! Flower stamp from SU! Simply Said set. Sentiment from SU! Wonderful words set. Flowers cut on Cricut. Card, ribbon, brad and other stuff from stash. I think it's pink enough!!!

15th Birthday

I've just invested in a Cricut machine and this is my first real attempt at a card for a friends daughter. I can see I will be using the machine a lot.

I used mirror card for my M for metallic card for the ABC Challenge this week. I love the colour scheme and the papermania stamp is really classy!
